Just the facts: 1) Took my car to QAR to replace my alternator. I knew it was the alternator because I know cars. So, I told the man at the counter- please replace the alternator. 2) I received a $1600 quote for the alternator, a new battery, a brake job, etc. (I have a breaks guy who charges much less without sacrificing quality.) 3) I told the man, just replace the alternator. Still cost $750. 4) I was charged $120 for a diagonostic fee I didn’t need. And I was over charged for the part. Most mark ups are 20% on parts. Even still, the price was silly. 5) When I got my car back, the window controls as well as the trunk release in the drivers compartment no longer worked. 6) They finished the work on my car in short fashion, so I was content with the time turn around. 7) The employees maintained a bit of professionalism and responded to commmunication quickly. 8) They also avoided me like the plague when I came to pay. I got the side eye from several employees as I left. Maybe it’s in my head, but they did not thank me for the business or ask me to return. Summary: Quoted me for work I didn’t ask to be performed. Overcharged me for parts. Charged me a diagnostic fee I didn’t ask for. Got the car back to me quickly and without a hassle, although the crew was less than friendly upon my return. Windows control and trunk release no longer in working order. (No, I didn’t mention it because I do not expect them to accept responsibility or fix it.) Overall, while professional, QAR is just another shady auto shop IMO. Ironically, I chose QAR because of the reviews. After a personal experience, I won’t go back.
